St. Maarten Speedway on the Great Bay Promenade is gearing up to host two International Races this year. For the past two years St. Maarten hosted the SXM International Championship during the summer.

This year Reggie Coram and the Speedway will attract races from as far away as Japan, Australia, Germany, and of course Canada and the United States in June and then again in October.  This past week The Speedway held their first big race of 2016.  New racer Trip Gage surprised everyone winning the big red trophy for fastest qualifying lap.  However it was the more experienced Lamar Levestone taking the checkered flag. He was followed by veteran Frank Delamore in second place and new racer Miguel Eusebius placed third.  Races are held Wednesday and Fridays.
