RULES / SPECS
CLASS NAME: FLEXI/LMP
MOTOR/GEARS: C can
w/ balanced Super Wasp/Hornet armature .513" dia. min. (new lightened Kelly
and RJR can not permitted).
1) Lead wires
may be changed.
2) Motor case may
be ground slightly to clear rear axle and/or bushings.
3) Armature shaft
may be shortened.
4) Motor can may be
soldered to top of chassis motor bracket and soldered to the chassis center
section, or braced with 0.062" piano wire.
5) Any pitch spur
gear and pinion.
6) Brushes and springs
may be changed.
7) Any ceramic magnet
for C cans, may be glued in w/ super glue or Locktite, no shimming
allowed.
8) NO OTHER MODIFICATIONS
ALLOWED.
CHASSIS: Approved production
4" wheel base 2 piece stamped steel Flexi type chassis: Parma Flexi
I, II, III; Champion Astro, Turbo Flex; RJR Roadrunner; Slotworks Spyder,
Spyder 2000. No prototypes. Aluminum pans OK.
1) One commercially
available guide flag, any manufacturer.
2) Front wheels/tires, minimum
diameter 1/2". Front wheels must touch and roll when car tips before
any other part of the car touches the track (excluding guide flag and braid).
No sticker or flimsy rubber front wheels.
3) Front axle: .062"
dia. piano wire, may be soldered to front axle uprights.
4) Rear axle bushings:
Any 3/32" I.D. oilite bushings. May soldered or glued. Ball
bearings not allowed.
5) Any commercially available
black rear tire, maximum tire width .810".
6) Rear Axle: 3/32" diameter
drill blank axle. Hollow or filled axles not allowed.
7) Motor bracket may be
filed to clear motor bushing but may not be removed.
8) Chassis Bracing:
A single .062" U shaped piece of piano wire or Slick 7 P/N S7-390 may be
soldered to rear axle bushing uprights. Axle tubes not allowed.
9) NO CUTTING/LIGHTENING
OF CHASSIS except as described above.
BODIES LMP (LeMans prototype):
Approved JK Products bodies - 7176 Toyota, 7177 BMW, 7178 Porsche, 7182
Audi, 7183 Mercedes, 7184 BMW, 7185 Cadillac, 7186 Panoz, 7187 Lola-Judd,
7191 Sintura, 7192 Audi, 7193 Reynard, 7194 Chrysler, 7195 Courage, 7196
Panoz, 7197 Bentley, 7198 MG-Lola, 7199 Dome, 7200 Ascari. Body must
be trimmed to the manufacturers molded in "cut line".
0.007" or 0.01" thickness OK.
1) May be mounted
with body clips or straight pins and stainless steel or brass pin tubing
soldered to pan or floating type.
2) Front wheel area must
be cutout or left clear so front wheels are fully visible.
3) May be painted any color
scheme desired but paint must be opaque (no thin mist paint jobs allowed)
and have a minimum of three racing numbers.
4) Interior must be 3D painted
and detailed. No paper interiors.
5) Interior and body must
cover all of chassis, wheels and guide flag when viewed from above.
GROUND CLEARANCE: Minimum
0.063" at the rear of chassis including the spur gear.
MAXIMUM BODY HEIGHT:
Body must be cut along mfrs. "cut line" front, rear and sides.
MAXIMUM WIDTH: 3-1/4"
measured from edge to edge across rear tires and wheels.
