P7050002 - The EJ's Midget Racer Kit. Ed Sourbeck of EJ's Hobbies sent the following pics and info on these great new vintage / reproduction kits: "Here is the first one I built, since the driver has moveable arms and head it's easy to customize the position of his arms etc. Midget body is of a ABS high impact plastic, as is the chrome parts and the clear windshield. Tires are EJ's 15s & 16s, motor is a fox 12 volt with 9 tooth pinion. Chassis is an inline brass one of my design."

P7050003 - Another variation of the Midget, the driver figure comes with long sleeve and short sleeve arms in the kit. Drivers head is capable of being moved. The hood hold down straps you see are easily purchased at a local hobby shop. I used 1/72 belt buckles (metal etched) from a german airplane. Instruction sheet has all kinds of information on it also.

P7050007 - Another variation of the car I built up - with differant injector stacks, and i made a hanky covering his mouth (they raced this way) just by using a piece of masking tape painted red. The front bumper is customized and easy to make with a stone guard, which is nothing but a piece of window screen.

P7050014 - You can sand off the short sleeves on the arms and produce this type of driver figure as well (instruction sheet tells it all), with a little work you can make him look like he is wearing an undershirt - today they call it a tank top. The cigar does not come in the kit, but since I saw a picture of race driver chewing on one & I couldnt resist doing the same with the kit. The kit also has 3 differant injector stacks - chrome plated, two differant front bumpers , three prong knock offs, aluminum 5-40 thread axles & rims.

P7050018 - another angle of my favorite driver (the bad sportsman)... this gesture was quite common during racing or shortly after someone lost a race that they felt wasnt fairly posted... fist fighting and bar brawls where sometimes the after math of this dangerous sport that really went from the 30s thru the 6t0s when the cars desing was changed and roll cages to protect the driver where added...

P7050021 - Here is another variatiion of the 1/24th scale driver. I detailed his jacket white & red due to the fact the real drivers in the 50s raced wearing these style of coats - they were called varsity jackets. Notice the injector stack area which again can be easily customized and another version of the car is possible. Wheels are custom sets available very soon.

P7050024 - Here is a example of the 1/24 scale driver figure that is supplied in the kit, so the customer has two choices (not bad?)

P7050036 - Here is the long sleeve shirt dude waving for victory, and again chompin a cigar for that added touch. The custom wheels on this car are optional sets that can be bought from EJ's to customize the midget even further.

P7050126 - This is the long sleeve version (reworked). The gesture he is making is one reason that I call him the bad sport.. finger does not come in the kit, but its easy to make.

P7050135 - The decal sheet is quite large 7 3/4" x 6 1/4" and has a lot of goodies on it, it is also waterslide. the instruction sheet also tells the customer what some of the actual colors of the cars where that used specific decals off the sheet.

P7310190 - Here is a pic of the inline brass chassis/fox motor set up in the midget. The midget is 4 1/2"long and maximum width left to right off the wide rear tires measures 2 7/16" thus this car can be driven on any track 1/32 thru 1/24 with only a minor adjustment to the pickup guide (which is a modern jet flag one) quick change braid...
